But the ads appear to be backfiring across the pond, where instead of the delightful John Hodgman and tolerable straightman Justin Long, commercials feature a pair of BBC Radio comedians

Seems the Apple part of the duo can't get the right mix of sincerity and superiority, thus reinforcing the perception of insufferable smugness among Mac users.

Upshot is that Apple's public perception has taken a hit in Dear Ol' Blighty, with research firm YouGov showing Apple's buzz dropping from +14 to +8 in January.
