Aopen's barebones miniPC, though a little larger than the Mac Mini (and more expensive when the innards are thrown in), gets a spec bump today. Their latest model, the MP945-VDR miniPC Duo, adds Vista to the mix of Core 2 Duo, gigabit ethernet, Intel GMA 950 graphics, mini PCI, DVI+S/PDIF-out and up to 4 GB of RAM that makes the tiny PC the tinkerer's best alternative to Apple's less yielding design.
