The Wall Street Journal's Li Yuan and Nick Wingfield are now reporting that Cingular will partner with Apple to power the phone Apple CEO Steve Jobs is expected to unveil tomorrow. Details are scant beyond that point.
I can say this much: The WSJ is as old-school as media gets, and there's no way they would print this unless they heard from someone incredibly credible, ie: Apple or Cingular. Here's a hint. It wasn't Apple.
What's interesting is that similar things have happened before, and it wouldn't actually be surprising if Apple doesn't announce a phone or switches wireless partners if they find out Cingular leaked this. They did it with the ATI Radeon.
