Toyota's recall woes worsened with yesterday's recall of 533,000 Tundra pickup trucks and Sequoia SUVs due to potential steering problems — a move that may also hurt Toyota as it fights GM and Ford for the lucrative truck market.
Toyota has received reports of 11 accidents and six injuries related to the recall, which involves 2004-2006 Tundra trucks and 2004-2007 Sequoia full-size SUVs. According to AP:
Toyota recalled a total of 2.2 million vehicles in 2005 and 766,000 in 2006. Please note: This latest recall does not involve the all-new 2007 Tundra being built at Toyota's new plant in San Antonio. The company won't notify owners until mid-February, so get the word out.
