For Christmas, I was the happy recipient of a 24" iMac with 2 GB RAM and the upgraded nVidia GForce 7600 256MB video card. It is the nicest computer I have ever owned--a bit ropey for gaming, perhaps--but much better on that front than the earlier iMacs. A general paean to Apple's 24-incher will be forthcoming, but for now I'd like to tell you about what I hate. I hate the Mighty Mouse.
The Mighty Mouse is aggressively useless when used as a two-button mouse. This is because instead of actually having two buttons, it appears to have a single touchpad-like conductivity sensor. This means that while it can detect where you click, if any other fingers remain elsewhere on the detection area, it has trouble registering the location of the click. To right click, in other words, one must lift one's left finger clear of the left-click area, or it will perform a kind of Schrodinger-esque pseudorandom decision about where the click actually is. This means I lose at Medieval II: Total War and all my little men die.
