Wireless USB has been just on the verge of making your computing life easier for a
couple of years now, but the folks behind the technology promise it'll happen in 2007.
Roberto Aiello, CTO of Staccato Communications, says the final regulatory hurdles for the Intel-backed Certified Wireless USB standard should be cleared in a couple of months, after which dongles (to adapt wired USB hubs and ports) will flood the market. Expect printers, laptops, cameras and other devices to start sporting built-in Wireless USB after the middle of the year.
Also expect some growing pains, as a couple of second-tier manufacturers are pushing forward with their own standards for no-wires USB connections.
