There are way too many coffee table books featuring human celebrities. That's why photographer Jill Greenberg–who's done 7 awesome covers for Wired, including the Stephen Colbert one (Issue 14.08)–decided to change it up a little with her new project, Monkey Portraits, by shooting studio portraits of famous monkeys.
By famous, I don't mean Jane-Goodall-breast-fed-him-on-one-of-her-TV-shows famous. These monkeys were actually brought to the studio on a leash by their Hollywood trainers, carrying their portfolios of TV commercials, print ads, and movies they starred in. (I'm not big into monkey trivia, but if you all recognize any of the above three characters, please leave a comment.)
It's too bad Michael Jackson's chimp friend Bubbles isn't around anymore. He was mighty good lookin'.
