LASIK surgery has been around for a while now, but it still scares the heck out of me.
A laser? Mucking around in my eye? What if there's an earthquake? Or the surgeon has a stroke?
Forget it.
Of course, I don't have any problem with the alternative, a little piece of plastic (at least I think that's what it is), sitting on top of my cornea (at least I think that's what it is), attracting God knows how many millions of germs.
Maybe my risk calculation is all wrong. The Seattle P-I says laser surgery may actually be a safer alternative to fooling around with contact lenses.
