RVers and those who spend lots of time with the family in their vehicle need not fear that YouTube's sudden respect of copyright laws will deprive you of your Daily Show (or more likely "Reba") fix.

Unwired Vehicles'UVIA M100 mobile infotainment system relays content from your home entertainment system via 3G wireless broadband (EV-DO), allowing you to stream whatever you could be watching at home. Unwired_vehicles

The company has partnered with Slingbox, the device that lets you stream video from your TV online, to watch DVDs, live TV or TiVoed content. The infotainment system also plays MP3s and provides broadband internet access.

Sounds great until you know how much it costs: $3,500 plus the cost of the wireless broadband service. Ouch.

“Longer drive times, contemporary lifestyles and the need to keep kids entertained are causing the automotive rear-seat entertainment aftermarket to experience incredible growth,” says Peter Coppola, co-founder and president of Unwired Vehicles.

Wireless vehicle infotainment: $3,500. Not talking to the kids from Wichita to Sioux City: Priceless.
