Palo Alto, Calif.-based startup Loopt had teamed with Sprint to offer a GPS service that lets subscribers locate their friends. It uses a real-time map to display the locations of the subscribers contacts, which can be detected up to 25 miles away. They even have a cool Web 2.0-esque name for the concept -- "social mapping" -- to guarantee that 25-and-under demographic.
