There is no way that a violent video game should be sold and distributed in our country...this game must not enter Italian homes. […] There is no need for massive doses of horror to entertain our children. I think those who create and make such games must have perverse minds.

The mayor is apparently unaware that the game is rated M, and therefore not targeted at children in the first place. Although, perhaps Italian rating systems differ from our own.

Frankly, I think any wee child who tried to play Rule of Rose would be bored out of their minds in no time at all. Most of the horror and sex is simply implied.

Me, I never did finish the game, despite being so excited about it. The claustrophobic level design and totally unworkable combat system literally gave me a headache every time I tried to play.
