Wireless USB took longer than I expected to hit store shelves — announced about two years ago, WUSB's gears seized up thanks to the organizations involved in developing it. Even now, I'm far from clear on how it's all worked out, with what appears to be a standards war brewing.
Nonetheless, reports have surfaced of devices hitting stores in Japan, and a photo of Y-E Data's first-to-market system is doing the rounds.
The system requires a USB dongle at the client side and a special hub to plug the devices into, which presumably is what makes it possible for Y-E Data to produce its system: it really doesn't need to be compatible with anything but itself.
