Visteon is showing off entertainment devices that work at home or in the car. The first transportable (or so the company says) HD Radio receiver and Nintendo Game Boy Advance for home and away were unveiled this week at the auto industry's Specialty Equipment Manufacturer Association (SEMA) tradeshow.

The HD Jump docks in a cradle in the vehicle or can be used with a home stereo (if you buy an extra kit. HD Radio, which digitally broadcasts artist and track information in CD-quality sound, is being phased in slowly but will eventually be the radio broadcast standard for both AM and FM. With the ability to offer traffic information, better sound and more channels, the folks in struggling-to-survive satellite radio aren't none to happy about HD Radio's rollout.

In addition to the Nintendo player, Visteon's Dockable Entertainment system also plays DVDs, eliminating the need to pay attention to your children in the car equally to the way they are left unattended for hours at home.
