As if it wasn't bad enough that drug dealers are selling cocaine that's 30 percent pure on the streets of London and elsewhere in the U.K.. Now, criminal-minded folks are cutting the stuff with a painkiller that could cause cancer.

According to the BBC, drug manufacturers are using Phenacetin to bulk up the weight of cocaine:

The painkiller was initially banned from general use in 1968 after it was linked to bladder and kidney cancer.

The ban was later revoked - but its legal use is highly restricted because of the dangers it poses.

Meanwhile, the BBC also reports that smugglers are using unfortunate dogs as drug mules, weighing down their bodies with more than nine pounds of drugs.
