In a last-ditch effort to keep the Michael J. Fox stem-cell ad story alive, CNN has posted a piece dredging up details about Fox's 1980s TV persona, the young conservative Alex P. Keaton.

"Most Americans in their 30s know Keaton's character," an oft-quoted pop culture expert told CNN. "He represented a shifting political demographic in the '80s, a portion of a generation who rejected their boomer parents' Democratic loyalties."
According to CNN, the "Spin City" TV show -- starring Fox -- later reported that Keaton became an Ohio senator. (Wikipedia says he became a congressman.)
Either way, one can only assume he would have been indicted by now.
