U.K. Scientists Create Liver from Stem Cells

Scientists at Newcastle University in the U.K. have created a new liver in a Petri dish using umbilical
cord stem cells. Scientists can use the cells now to test drugs in place of animal testing. And within a decade or so, scientists say they hope to us the cells to transplant an entire human liver. Here's the university's press release, a BBC story, and one from the Telegraph.
