Psycho Kids or Anti-Psycho Drugs?

Do you have a kid on anti-psychotics? How about Ritalin? For the last couple decades more and more children have spent their formative years hopped up on speed or tuned down on drugs bent on smoothing out mood swings -- and The Alliance for Human Research Protection wants to set things straight.

"The risks of the drugs far outweigh their benefits," said Vera Sharav, president of the Alliance for Human Research Protection, a New York-based consumer advocacy group. These drugs "play Russian roulette with young children's developing brains and central nervous system," she said. "It is a complete abdication of the do-no-harm principle in medicine."

The collection of articles suggests that some parents are choosing to medicate away their children's childhood irregularities and wreaking havoc on their normal development.
