And we're not talking about a river in Egypt. LifeNews reporter Steven Ertelt penned a wishful article
yesterday saying that embryonic stem cell research won't be an important issue as voters consider their choices on election day. He makes the assertion based on a Newsweek poll that found only 3 percent of Americans said the issue would be a deciding factor for them (1 percent of republicans, 4 percent of democrats and 6 percent of independents).
But what LifeNews is disregarding is the fact that overall numbers don't matter as much as the issue's influence on specific races, most notably the Missouri senate race, but also in Iowa, Ohio, Viginia and Illinois.
Newsweek even points out: "a host of sleeper social issues, including abortion, same-sexmarriage and stem-cell research will keep campaign 2006 interesting tothe end."
Clearly LifeNews would prefer to ignore the "stem cell suburbs."
