Bluespan's IonKids system gives parents a high-tech way to keep tabs on their children. The little guys wear a "Wristag," which communicates with a PDA-style base unit that alerts the parent if the child wanders too far (apparently the system can also be used with seniors, pets and wayward husbands). Kits start from about $300 and accessories can be purchased separately. Hopefully this means we'll never again have to see a child on a leash. Of course, nothing is mentioned about what to do when the child figures out how to take off the wrist strap...
