David Letterman has loomed over the "funny list" genre like some variety of colossus for over two decades now. Isn't it time we let someone else loom for a while? I suggest Merlin Mann of 5ives, whose humorous lists include Five Things I Had to Keep Explaining to the Guy at REI and Five Rules of Thumb. He also has some apparently serious lists, mostly involving music, like Five Amazing Hi-Hat Parts. Neat stuff, and I don't use the phrase "neat stuff" lightly. [via BoingBoing]
