My Tuesday post on marijuana arrests has garnered a record number of comments: 90 and counting. Clearly this is a topic Bodyhack readers are passionate about.
Many of the comments describe theories as to why marijuana remains illegal when it seems to be less harmful than, say, alcohol or heroin. One theory that was new to me is that lobbying from the cotton industry keeps pot illegal thus preventing competition from hemp.

OK, so points for anyone who can provide evidence to support or refute this one. We also invite any other explanations (dare we say conspiracy theories?) What's yours?
