Nano material that is stronger than steel is now in production and could solve the problem of how to safely storing hydrogen onboard.
Raymor Nanotech says it is producing single-walled carbon nanotubes in volume at a production plant.
Carbon nanotubes are 100 times stronger than steel and one-sixth the weight, which is thought to be sufficient to safely story pressurized hydrogen on a vehicle.
Of course there is still the question of creating hydrogen from renewable sources and efficient and cost effective fuel cells, but maybe we are closer to solving one-third of the problem.
