If U.S. health officials get their way, the gigantic portions that are now a staple of restaurants nationwide may be considerably scaled back. With 64 percent of Americans overweight -- and 30 percent qualifying as obese -- the government is trying to convince restaurants to scale back on the size of their meals. This applies especially to fast-food joints, which provide the hamburgers, fries and pizza that, for most Americans, fulfill their dining out fantasies.
