Reuters published a brief round-up of "expert" thoughts about sex and tech:
Experts ponder a future of new sex gizmos
I learned that sim sex game Virtually Jenna now supports hardware – your sex toy does what the animated sex toys are doing, I think – but I don't see anything about that on the site NSFW so I'll have to investigate further.
The final quote about pushing people to a simulated relationship that supplants their ability to relate socially ... I think most people don't subsume their reality to live in virtual worlds all the time for the rest of their lives, even if it takes a year or three to get over the initial novelty and heavy use.
And frankly, anyone who chooses to do so merely removes him or herself from the gene pool, so unless the person dives into a social life that takes place entirely online at the expense of his or her children or spouse, who cares? And if it is at the expense of kids and spouse, tell me what was missing in the reality that sent the person seeking such total escape in the first place?
