Newly released Iraqi reports suggest that the Russians had sources inside the American military command as the U.S. began its 2003 invasion of Iraq, and that they passed sensitive information on to Saddam Hussein. These reports, contained in a larger Pentagon report made public Friday, say the Russians collected information from sources "inside the American Central Command" and that battlefield intelligence was provided to Saddam through the Russian ambassador in Baghdad. Both the U.S. State Department and the Russian Ministry of Defense are being pretty tight-lipped. There's enough embarrassment to go around on both sides.
