Just what is it about Jaguar that accounts for its iconic status? In my mind, it is a mixture of things, between the leaping Jaguar hood ornament and visions of what it must be like to Sunday drive around the Lake District of England in a British racing green colored convertible.
Jaguar's latest, the 2007 XK Coupe and convertible models, reach 60 mph from standstill in about six seconds with a little help from a 300-horsepower, 4.2-liter V8 engine.
Jaguar is also talking a lot about the sound, or rather roar, of the XK's engine, calling it a technology feat. No demonstration was possible at Geneva, though.
