That's when Bruichladdich, a small Scottish distillery, expects to begin delivering a whisky that is 92 percent alcohol. The distillery decided to revive the recipe, which is centuries old, "purely for fun," after reading an account by one 17th-century writer who said more than two spoonfuls could be lethal. As a comparison, the whisky that most of us know and love has an alcohol content of between 40 and 63.5 per cent. Bruichladdich, a small privately owned distillery founded in 1881, plans to make about 5,000 bottles of the whisky and sell it at around $700 per case of 12 bottles.
