The folks at CNET claim that the 2006 Acura RL could be the geekiest car around. The $55,000 car lets you control your iPod through a dashboard interface and an optional Technology Package includes a braking system that automatically slows the car when a collision is imminent.

CNET also lauds the live traffic information and Bluetooth wireless network. The automatic transmission can also be manually shifted.

All of this sounds great, but I'm surprised that two safety features that are must-haves for my next car aren't included -- a lane departure warning system, and blind spot detection system. Recently I narrowly avoided an accident when trying to exit the highway because despite double checking the side and rear view mirrors, someone was cruising in my blind spot. I would have thought he would have seen my turn signal on and either slowed down or beeped to let me know he was there.
