HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Police are investigating whether as many as seven teenage girls have been sexually assaulted by men they met through the popular Web site MySpace.com.

Better take MySpace offline and prohibit men from using the internet, because otherwise, look what happens.

Reminds me of a billboard I saw in Oakland a few days ago. "1 in 5 children are sexually solicited online," it said, in black type on blank white background.

And I thought hmm, I've read in several sources that 2 out of 3 girls and 1 out of 3 boys are molested as children, usually by a family member or other "trusted" adult. Some sources suspect it's more like 2 out of 3 boys too, but those incidents aren't reported as frequently because of homophobia.

Don't tell me the internet is any more dangerous than the offline world. I won't believe you.
