Bathocyroe fosteri is a lobate ctenophore found at intermediate depths in all the oceans. This species is very common and abundant near the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, and measures about 2 inches tall.

Scientists on an expedition led by Norway’s Institute of Marine Research spotted this unknown creature crawling around the Mid-Atlantic Ridge at a depth of 6,500 feet.
