When are virus writers and spam producers going to get the word that wise computer users ("MyDoom Targets Linux Antagonist," Jan. 27, 2004):
1. Use programs like MailWasher to stop viruses and spam at the server level and blackball and delete them before they ever get to their computers.
2. Never open attachments from unknown senders and strongly doubt even those from friends.
If more users would adopt this attitude we could stop all kinds of problems.
I get enough valid e-mail from friends and do not open anything from someone I do not trust.

My university account ends with .edu and I am getting tons of these infected e-mails ("MyDoom Targets Linux Antagonist," Jan. 27, 2004). Where did you get that it does not infect .edu e-mails?

Blackmail isn't cool ("MikeRoweSoft Names His Price," Jan. 26, 2004). Even by a 17-year-old. Microsoft was right in the first place. It offered $10, and he then asked for a grand (some said $10,000). He has no legitimate rights to the name, clearly impinging on Microsoft's rights.

Long ago, in a galaxy far away, a movie company was created called United Artists ("Just Say 'No' to Record Labels," Jan. 26, 2004). Guess how such a company came about, what it consisted of, and what it inevitably became?
