ZDNet is pushing what it calls "a safe, central storage location for" passwords.
Password Pro stores logon names and passwords in a single password-protected mini-database.
What the program doesn't do: employ bi-directional authentication, where you not only authenticate yourself to a site - but the site authenticates itself to you.
With security products such as those developed by Xcert Software, certificates may soon eliminate the tedium of passwords altogether, while improving - rather than eroding - your privacy.
